Who we are

This policy explains how Economical Pest Control Inc. ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information through this website.

We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

When you send an estimate request, we collect:

  • Your name and phone number
  • Your email address, if you give it
  • The pest problem, your property type and your city
  • Your preferred day and time for us to contact you or visit, if you give them
  • Any details you choose to add
  • Your agreement to be contacted about your request

With each request we also record the page you sent it from and, if you arrived through an ad or a link with tracking codes, the campaign information in that link (such as UTM parameters or a Google Ads click ID).

If you call or email us, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you choose to tell us.

Why we collect it

We use your information to respond to your request, arrange and provide pest control service, follow up on that service, and keep basic business records.

We use campaign information to understand which ads and pages bring in enquiries.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run this website and respond to you:

  • Resend, our email delivery provider, which sends the details from our website form to our inbox.
  • Vercel, which hosts this website.
  • Cloudflare, whose Turnstile service we use to protect our estimate form from spam.
  • Google, if you choose to load the map, and through the analytics and advertising tools described below.

These providers may process or store information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful requests from its authorities.

We may also disclose personal information when the law requires it.

Links to our social media profiles take you to Instagram, which has its own privacy policy.

The map on our website

Our Contact and Service Areas pages include a Google map that loads only when you click “Show map”. Until you click, nothing is loaded from Google.

When you click “Show map”, Google Maps loads in your browser. Google may then receive your IP address and set cookies, under Google's own privacy policy.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website, and Google Ads to measure which ads lead to calls and requests. These tools are managed through Google Tag Manager and use cookies or similar technologies.

They collect information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser type, your approximate location and how you arrived at the site. We never send your name, phone number or email address to these tools.

You can limit this tracking:

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries only as long as we need them to respond to you and for our business records.

How we protect it

We use established service providers with security safeguards, and we limit access to the people who need it to respond to you.

No way of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect yours.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to being contacted. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (opens in a new tab).
